community pride for web02The Prairie Lakes Coop Community Pride Funds were created to extend our company's commitment to our rural agricultural communities. The grants and scholarships available through the Community Pride Funds outline Prairie Lakes Coop's dedication to agriculture and the rural communities, in the hope of addressing the issues facing rural America.
Prairie Lakes Coop Community Pride Funds include three grants, School Inspiration, 4-H Leadership, and Ag Classroom / FFA.

The School Inspiration grant is aimed at assisting local elementary and secondary schools in the process of developing leadership, community wellbeing, and enriching education opportunities. 
The 4-H Leadership grant is intended to assist 4-H chapters / counties in promoting youth leadership, community development, and agricultural awareness.
The Ag Classroom / FFA grant was created to aid high classrooms in making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
The Community Pride Funds includes several scholarship opportunities to graduating high school seniors to assist them in pursuing higher education.  Applicants are selected based on academic achievement, leadership characteristics, their vision of agriculture and community involvement.

  • CHS Foundation offers new ag scholarship program for high school students

    • High school students pursuing careers in the agriculture industry have the opportunity to earn one of 25 $1,000 scholarships thanks to a new program offered by the CHS Foundation, the major giving entity of CHS, an energy, grains and foods Fortune 200 company.

      The new CHS Foundation High School Scholarship Program will recognize the nation's top youth in agriculture, and foster the development of future leaders in rural America, agribusiness and production agriculture.

      "We are proud to extend our scholarship offering to high school seniors," says William J. Nelson, CHS Foundation president. "As the industry continues to grow, it's vitally important that we continue to build the next generation of leaders in the production, science, technology and business of agriculture."

      Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to study an agricultural-related major at a two- or four-year college. Applicants must be from one of the following states: Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming.

      Students must apply before May 1. An independent, external committee will select scholarship recipients based on essays focusing on leadership and global agriculture; transcripts; and reference letters. Students should visit http://www.chsfoundation.org/ for application forms and full details.

      As a part of the University Partnership Program, the CHS Foundation also offers scholarships for students attending universities and two-year colleges.
